The Xerox DocuColor 100 prints on continuous 18" wide paper media (glossy or uncoated cover and text weight stocks) in weights ranging from 100gsm (70lb text) to 250gsm (93lb cover). The DocuColor 100 uses powerful front end technology which allows you to produce more sophisticated projects where each document contains different logos, photos, graphics, and backgrounds. PrintStreamer The PrintStreamer is a giant buffer between Barco Graphics FastRip/X and the digital press, enabling electronic collation, page picking and unlimited variable data printing. This unique device allows operators to drive the productivity of the digital press to the maximum and really exploit the features of digital printing. With the introduction of the first generation PrintStreamer in 1994, Barco Graphics introduced the "Press Server" concept to meet the requirement of feeding color presses with data at nominal printing speed. The second generation PrintStreamer was introduced in 1999. PrintStreamer 2 can store multiple thousands of ripped color pages and is capable of merging 100% variable data at nominal printing speed. The required aggregate data rate is over 170 MB per second (for a Xeikon DCP/50 D). The concept is scalable for different press architectures (currently the Xeikon DCP/320 D and DCP/500 D presses as well as the IBM InfoColor 130). PrintStreamer 2 is positioned to support multiple data streams. The interface to the PrintStreamer 2 is documented so that RIP vendors can integrate their RIP technology into the Barco PrintStreamer 2.
