Fast A4 drum scanner

A new drum scanner in the A4 range comes from Opto Trade in Penzberg: The Colormax D5404 is the successor of the successful Colormax D4000 and offers a scanning surface of A4 with the same resolution as before (4000 dpi), but much higher speed. Available is the Colormax D5404, equipped with three photomultiplier tubes, in an RGB and a CMYK version, and it can optionally be controlled using Photoshop plug in, TWAIN interface or the multitasking scanning Aurora (for Mac or PC) . The design was adapted to the larger model D7502 with A2 flatbed.

A4 drum scanner for high end quality

With the 240 Celsis table drum scanner Crosfield offers the manufacturerscolor reproduction in high end quality at the desktop publishing work. The A4 end drum scanner works with the photomultiplier technique, so that oversight and transparencies can be handled positively and negatively. The device has a standardly SCSI II interface and can be used by the Macintosh as well as be controlled by a PC. .

The scanner optics enable to the users to process pictures with resolutions between 31 and 4,000 dpi and a whole side can be felt in the format DIN A4 at most with an enlargement of 2,400 percent. The scanner works with a fully automatic calibration and for this on the roller a white stripe is raised and an examination surface is kept. Here in contrast to other comparable scanners the calibration stripes are raised by the manufacturer firmly on the roller, so that the user must not always fasten them again anew. Beside the automatic calibration an automatic Focus and screens setting as well as the possibility of the batch processing should guarantee a high productiveness. In addition, offers of the Celsis 240 a blurred masking, and also the change from RGB in the colour space CMYK can occur directly during the Scannens automatically.

The Celsis 240 offers a special possibility to control the picture sharpness optically. Over a special view window above the drum the operator can have a look at the picture sharpness directly and change about the set keys of the scanner. This function is very helpful, for example, if it is a matter of processing printed in halftone presentations and the user direct can see with which unsharpness the single half tone dots just just disappear.

Description of the Howtek D4500 (it does not concern a Howtek D4500):

The Howtek ScanMaster D4500 delivers unbeatable image quality and productivity. If youve been looking at CCD film scanners that use flatbeds or film carriers, then you should consider a PMT drum scanner. Its more accurate than flatbed scanners, and more productive than scanners that can only scan single or small batches of films. You can scan any size film or reflective up to A4, and even mix different film types and sizes in a single batch scan. The D4500 can scan positive or negative, transparency or reflectives.
